Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze the association and present a predictability model between gratitude and sociodemographic factors, with a non-experimental, quantitative, correlational, cross-sectional design. The population consisted of inhabitants of a Peruvian metropolis, made up of the districts of Huánuco, Amarilis and Pillcomarca. The selection of 384 people was made with simple random sampling for infinite samples. The statistical analysis was processed with the SPPS.V25 package, for processing descriptive and inferential tests. The association of the variables was done using the X2 test, with an association between religion with 0.008, stage of life with 0.000 and gender with 0.026 being the level of significance in each of the cases; but no association was found with marital status (0.335) and level of education (0.362), then a predictability model with multinomial logistic regression, it was found that the model predicts 88.5% of the data in the high gratitude category, but a limited performance in the low and medium categories, finally it was found that gratitude can be predicted by gender and age but not by religion. Thus, gratitude constitutes an important factor in positive psychology and strengthens well-being in the individual.
